Bhau – 11 Aug 13

Beloved Avatar Meher Baba Ki Jai!

Dearest Beloved Baba’s Worldwide Family,

Our dearest Bhauji was taken by ambulance from the Trust Compound and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Noble Hospital in Ahmednagar on Saturday, 10th August at about 12:00 noon.

He is resting comfortably and peacefully.  When awake, he is alert, though speaking very little.  He is receiving excellent care from the specialists and all the medical staff there.

From his previous stays in Noble ICU, the staff is well aware of Bhauji’s connection with Meher Baba, and what a special patient and unique being Bhauji is.  He has been received very lovingly in this very good hospital (which has a temple for Shirdi Sai Baba on an upper floor.)  He has been smiling a lot since he arrived there!

At home, Bhauji had remained mostly in bed for more than a month, and was recovering slowly from a urinary tract infection and kidney complications.  However, in the last few days he developed a candida yeast infection in his mouth and throat, which made it painful and impossible for him to eat or drink.  He required intravenous fluids urgently.  After the first IV administered in his bedroom at home failed and needed replacement, Bhau’s family members made the decision to take him to the hospital.  His daughter Sheela asked Bhauji’s permission to take him there, and he readily gave it.

Bhauji is still suffering from infections and is being treated with antibiotics. He has great weakness in his right hand and right leg – perhaps a regression, due to his present debilitated state, to the symptoms of stroke which he suffered in January 2011.  Exercise and massage is being given and some improvement is noted.

It seems to all that Bhauji is very conscious and aware of all that is going on around him, and responds to questions or greetings with “Yes,” or “No,” through gesture or words, and occasionally says, “Jai Baba.”

We hope that Bhauji is able to return home soon.  He is Baba’s Kshatriya “Warrior Class” Mandali and Beloved Baba is the Captain of the Ship!

It so happened that yesterday all the Trustees were gathered for an informal meeting at the Trust Compound, and many pilgrims had come on the bus hoping for a glimpse of, or a “Jai Baba!” from, Bhauji.  All were present to gather around the ambulance as he departed for hospital, and showered their love with a resounding “AVATAR MEHER BABA KI JAI!”

With all love and Jai Baba to you,

In His Love and Service,

Mother C (Creator [Janice])

Please note:  The fourth paragraph of the previous announcement should have read:

At home, Bhauji had remained mostly in bed for more than a month, and was recovering slowly from a urinary tract infection and kidney complications.  However, in the last few days he developed a candida yeast infection in his mouth and throat, which made it painful and impossible for him to eat or drink.  He required intravenous fluids urgently.  After the first IV administered in his bedroom at home failed and needed replacement, Bhau’s family members made the decision to take him to the hospital.  They asked Bhauji’s permission to take him there, and he readily gave it.

BHAUJI GOES TO HOSPITAL

On 10th August 2013 around noon, Avatar Meher Baba’s intimate mandali member and our Chairman, Bhau, was admitted in Noble Hospital in Ahmednagar. Various complications were making caring for him at home increasingly difficult. Bhauji agreed to this transfer.

Bhauji’s family members and caregivers continue to take turns being with him round the clock while he is in the hospital.

Here as elsewhere in the Baba world, we know that eloved Baba’s Nazar is always on His Bhau.

Avatar Meher Baba ki Jai,
